It’s true that Gail Kim is retired and is very unlikely to make an in-ring return. It’s even less likely that she’ll re-join WWE after she didn’t leave on the best of terms. But the fact of the matter was, in a world in which she does return to WWE, a lot more opportunity awaits. With Gail Kim and WWE, it was more of a “wrong time, wrong place” situation for her.
To her credit (and TNA’s), she left and pursued more opportunities and created an unforgettable body of work that inspired a generation of women. Her rivalries with the likes of Awesome Kong, Taryn Terrell, Madison Rayne, etc. were some of the glory years of the Knockouts Division and looking back at it, TNA was well-ahead of everyone when it came to giving women opportunities.
She rightfully cemented her place in TNA’s Hall Of Fame, becoming the first-ever woman to do so. She was a fantastic wrestler in every sense of the word and the chemistry she would have with some of the current crop of women in WWE would be off the charts.
