Kane has been around for two decades and counting now in the WWE. Two decades is only if you consider the start of the Kane character. Prior to that, he was known as Dr Isaac Yankem, an evil dentist character who didn’t find too much success. When Kevin Nash had left the company to jump ship to WCW, he was fit into the “Diesel” character and for obvious reasons, it never worked.
Kane, however, was the complete opposite. Similar to his storyline half-brother The Undertaker, the Kane character may have been one of the finest creations in WWE history. When he debuted at Badd Blood 1997, it was with a lot of surprise and anticipation. Fans had wondered about the tease of Undertaker’s “Half brother” and on the night of the first-ever Hell In A Cell match, Paul Bearer unleashed The Big Red Monster.
Kane’s debut has to go down as one of, if not the greatest in WWE history. While he may not have been the best technical performer, there’s no denying that Kane was solid in the ring, which makes him one of the greatest “big men” in wrestling history.
Let’s take a look at the icon’s 5 greatest matches in WWE.
