After a solid month of hyping it up, the Rey Mysterio SmackDown 1000 return lived up to expectations. Mysterio returned to face off against US Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in a match that would see the winner qualify for the World Cup at WWE Crown Jewel.

Mysterio didn’t miss a beat in his match, as he looked fantastic against Nakamura. He eventually managed to win the match after hitting the 619 and a frog splash. As such, he will find himself competing at the tournament next month.
