Mixed Match Challenge Recap (9/25/18): Country Dominance vs. Mahalicia, Team Awe-Ska vs. Fabulous Truth

The second week of WWE Mixed Match Challenge Season Two emanated from Denver, Colorado featuring the return of the defending champions against longtime rivals and a new pairing made a week ahead of time.

The Pepsi Center crowd was extremely hot for this all evening long as the first match featured the newly formed team of Country Dominance (Bobby Lashley and Mickie James) against Mahalicia (Jinder Mahal & Alicia Fox). Mickie James replaced Lashley’s original tag partner Sasha Banks as she is out due to injury, but the impromptu pairing made an early splash. With Lashley’s hypeman Lio Rush in tow, they quickly dispatched the dysfunctional team of Mahal and Fox, as Alicia just cannot co-exist with Sunil Singh:

And in the main event, the defending Mixed Match Challenge champions, Team Awe-Ska faced off against The Fabulous Truth. The Miz and Asuka have had their fair share of history against R-Truth and Carmella respectively, with Miz even defeating Truth earlier on SmackDown Live. It was more of the same here in an extremely entertaining bout, as Asuka made Carmella submit to the Asuka Lock:

Next week’s episode of Mixed Match Challenge will have Mahalicia looking to get on the winning track as they compete against the hug-worthy team of B-N-B (Finn Balor & Bayley) and the SmackDown contest will be a battle of married couples with Rusev and Lana going up against Jimmy Uso and Naomi:
